Lata Mangeshkar: 6 decades, one voice!

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passes away today on February 6th at the age of 92. On January 8, 2022, the veteran singer took her last breath at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, where she was being treated after testing positive for COVID-19. As soon as the news broke, many Bollywood celebrities took to their social handles and paid tribute to her.

Lata Mangeshkar sang in nearly a thousand Hindi films and sang in more than thirty-six Indian and international languages. The legendary singer received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989 for her outbreaking contribution to Indian cinema. She was also awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in 2001. Also, Lata Mangeshkar has won three National Film Awards, as well as multiple Filmfare Awards.
