OMG: Kangana Ranaut turns scriptwriter for Hansal Mehta’s Simran

Kangana Ranaut On Azaan

Kangana Ranaut had added one more feather to her cap by turning into a scriptwriter for her upcoming film, Simran. Hansal Mehta’s film is reportedly inspired by the life of an NRI nurse in the US, Sandeep Kaur. She was sent to prison last year for robbing banks to pay off her gambling debts. Kangana will be seen playing the titular role. As she has turned scriptwriter for the film, Hansal Mehta is all praises for her.

Talking about her, Mehta told a leading tabloid, “Kangana is an incredible talent and I’m happy that she with her collaboration has helped make Simran a fun family film. I’ve been very impressed with her since Queen and even more so because she collaborated on the script of that lovely film. I’m thankful that after Queen we have a similar collaboration in our film.” He added, “Of course Kangana must write. She is sharp, instinctive and has a great sense of character.”

Hansal Mehta also talked about working with Kangana. He said, “Working with Kangana was intense and satisfying. She is a fine artist and a unique talent who is deeply involved in the process of filmmaking. This is a new journey in my career, one that I’m always going to remember. My producing partner, Shailesh Singh, and I have offered to co-produce Kangana’s directorial debut. It’s going to be superbly compelling. I’m still finding that script I can make next with her, maybe a Simran sequel?” Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Shailesh Singh, Simran is slated to release on September 15, this year.
