Kangana Ranaut sues Filmfare for nominating her in the Best Actress category, here’s why
Kangana Ranaut is again on fire as she sues the Filmfare for nominating her in the Best Actress Category for her biopic ‘Thalaivi‘. She received an invitation and numerous calls from the organizers that didn’t go well with her.
The actress went online on Instagram to share a large note to reveal the reason behind her actions. She wrote, “Since 2014, I have prohibited immoral, corrupt, and fully unfair practices like @filmfare. But, I am getting numerous invitation calls from them to attend this year’s award function, and want to give me an award for ‘THALAIVII (sic).”
She further added, “ I’m shocked to know that they still want to nominate me. Promoting such corrupt practices in any way is beneath my dignity, work ethic, and value system. So, I have decided to sue @Filmfare. Thank you (SIC).”
Well, we all know that Kangana is outspoken and has a straightforward attitude. Not receiving an award from Filmfare doesn’t matter to her as she already has four national awards to her credit.
Even the Filmfare team has reacted to this remark made by Kangana. The magazine stated: “This is a patently false allegation against us by Kangana Ranaut. Our Invitation was an effort to bring everyone together in a celebration of Indian Cinema that brings the nation together. Filmfare awards celebrate the excellence of Indian cinema awarding the winners irrespective of their attendance or performance at the event. Ms. Ranaut is a 5-time Filmfare awardee and was given an award in her absence in 2014 & 2015 even when we knew that she won’t attend or perform at the event. We are withdrawing her nomination for the best actress after her irresponsible remarks about us.”
Giving full attention to her act, The magazine also took legal action against her. They stated, “ We have booked all the rights to take legal action against her malicious and defamatory statements which can cause serious damage to our reputation.
Not only this, but the magazine also took legal action against the actress. It said, “We reserve all rights to pursue any legal action against her malicious and defamatory statements tarnishing our reputation and goodwill.”
