Nia Sharma talks about TV industry, ‘You’re Treated Like A Mule, You Are Taken For Granted’

Nia Sharma is one of the most popular actresses of Indian television right now. The actress debuted in the television industry in 2010 with ‘Kaali – Ek Agnipariksha’. Her popularity shooted up after ther popular drama on Star Plus’s show ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ became a big hit. Nia has done many TV and web shows since then. Her performance in shows like ‘Jamai Raja’, ‘Ishq Mein Marjawan’ and ‘Naagin 4: Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel’ was passed by many.

For the past few years the actress has not appeared in any daily soap. Instead she is focusing on music videos and exploring the OTT medians. In a recent interview with SpotboyE.com, Nia highlighted why she believes online shows are far superior to television. She stated that on TV sets, “one is taken for granted and is treated more like a mule than an actress.”

Nia shared, “I feel, if you are working on a TV set, you’re working day in day out. You’re taken for granted. You’re treated like a mule, not like an actor. I feel that in the world of web series, things are far better and actors are given due respect.” With Vikram Bhatt’s 2017 series ‘Twisted,’ the Naagin actor made her digital debut. She was also in the show Jamai 2.0, which aired on ZEE5.

Meanwhile, Nia Sharma was recently featured in the Nikhita Gandhi-sung item single ‘Phoonk Le.’ Her incredible dancing talents and sizzling gorgeous avatar have wowed her followers.Talking about the song, Nia said, “I grew up watching item songs like Chaiyaa Chayiaa , Chamma Chamma, Bidi Jalaile , Munni , Sheela ki jawani and always swooned over how stunning all those women looked in the songs. I never knew I’d be the one getting an item number like ‘ Phoonk Le’ I was killing myself thinking how I’d even pull it off, I rehearsed day and night as I am not a professional dancer. I went to extreme levels where I worked out immensely, stopped eating much, and gave it my all.”
