Nawazuddin Siddiqui Begins Shooting for Ravi Varma’s Blind Babu
Acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has officially commenced filming for the upcoming dark-comedy thriller Blind Babu, directed by Ravi Varma. Production is now underway, marking an exciting new chapter in Siddiqui’s diverse career. Ravi Varma shared the update on Instagram, posting a series of photos showing Siddiqui with the film’s crew.
One striking image captures the actor and directors holding the clapboard labeled Blind Babu, symbolizing the start of the shoot. Another group shot features the entire team, while a close-up of the clapperboard hints at the film’s distinctive blend of suspense and dark humor.
Varma captioned the post: “Ab bomb phatega ya kuch aur? Get ready for the chaos that will trap you in edge-of-the-seat suspense… but with dark comic relief… The journey of #BlindBabu begins now!”

Meanwhile, Siddiqui’s recent film I’m Not An Actor premiered at the 14th DC South Asian Film Festival in Washington, D.C., from September 5–7.
Reflecting on the festival experience, Nawazuddin shared, “The festival is very warm and cozy. They’re very caring of Asian films, and it brings us joy that ours is the opening film. Acting remotely via video call for 30 days was a new experience. Eventually, we forgot the technology and focused only on the emotions.”
Looking ahead, Siddiqui is also set to appear in Raat Akeli Hai 2, as well as the horror-comedy Thama, starring alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Thama promises to be another intriguing addition to Siddiqui’s ever-expanding filmography.
