It’s National Mathematics Day, and I hope you all are aware of this day celebrated to honour one of India’s greatest mathematicians, Srinivasa Ramanujan, on his birth anniversary. What purpose does it serve? Several schools, colleges, universities, and educational institutions promote mathematics learning and understanding with the aim of advancing in the field.

Well, mathematics is everywhere; from managing your accounts to estimating a daily grocery purchase, math is present in each aspect of your daily life. Even the entertainment industry has brought some epic offerings based on this significant subject to educate and provide something useful to the audience. Vidya Balan’s Shakuntala Devi’s biopic is one example of math in the film industry.

Super 30, starring Hrithik Roshan, tells the story of Anand Kumar, who changed the entire tuition system into a Super 30 program. He educated some deprived kids who dreamed of passing the IIT JEE.

The Man Who Knew Infinity

This is an inspiring tale depicting the life journey and academics of an expert Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan. He is famous for his works on number theory and infinite series and for calculating the digits of Pi in surprising ways. It is accessible to viewers on Prime Video. The series shows his bond with his mentor, G.H. Hardy.
