Ranbir Kapoor announces the new release date of Toolsidas Junior with a game of snooker
After much anticipation, Ashutosh Gowariker’s AGPPL and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series have announced the release date of Rajiv Kapoor’s last film, ‘Toolsidas Junior,’ along with an amusing video of Ranbir Kapoor playing snooker with the young actor Varun Buddhadev.
The makers announced the revised release date with a special video featuring Rajiv Kapoor’s nephew Ranbir Kapoor and Toolsidas Junior lead actor Varun Buddhadev playing snooker, with Ranbir ending the video with the film’s tagline – Baccha Hai, Phaad Dega!
Toolsidas Junior, which opens on May 23rd, is the final film of legendary actor Rajiv Kapoor, and it follows the love between a father and son against the backdrop of the underappreciated sport of snooker.
Rajiv Kapoor lost his battle to life with a cardiac arrest, on the 9th February last year. Marking a year to his unfortunate demise, the makers of ‘Toolsidas Junior’ hosted a special screening for the Kapoor family attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Aadar Jain, Armaan Jain, Rima Jain, Kunal Kapoor alongwith producers Ashutosh and Sunita Gowariker, Bhushan Kumar and director Mridul.
‘Toolsidas Junior’ marks Ashutosh Gowariker and Bhushan Kumar’s first joint production while the duo had previously collaborated for Swades, wherein T-Series partnered for the music.
Toolsidas Junior presents the ideal collective family viewing experience on Netflix, appealing to all audiences, by depicting the motivational story of a young kid inspired by a passion for the game of Snooker and his passionate and affectionate relationship with his father.
The sports drama, set in Calcutta in 1994, follows the life of a snooker champion, played by Kapoor, who loses his heart after losing a crucial match. His son, played by Buddhadev, takes it upon himself to restore his father’s name to the list of winners.
