MX Player Ups the Web Space With Web Series in Marathi, Tamil and Gujarati
MX player has been featuring a number of fresh laid web series being liked by the audiences. The best thing about the platform is that it is now featuring a list of web series in several other languages including- Marathi, Tamil and Gujarati, as well. This brings him on the top of regional upthrust in the world of web series.
The six-episode Marathi web series ‘Aani Kay Hava’ was aired from July 16, the Tamil web series ‘Kalyanam Conditions Apply 2.0’ was launched on July 22 and the Gujarati rom-com ‘Do not Disturb’ was available to binge since July 26 on this OTT platform.
Identifying the under-served audiences in the Tier II/ Tier III cities and their requirements for differentiated content, MX Player has now aimed at upbringing the regional slate with romantic web series’ in Marathi, Tamil and Gujarati.
The six episode Marathi web series ‘Aani Kay Hava’ is helmed by Varun Narvekar of ‘Muramba’ fame and casts the popular real life couple Priya Bapat and Umesh Kamat in the lead role. It went live on July 16 and since then has been receiving a lot of response from audiences for their narrative and the duo’s chemistry.
With Tamil web series ‘Kalyanam Conditions Apply 2.0’, loved Mirchi Senthil and his wife Sreeja bringing forth the six-episode version of what marriage actually entails as the holy matrimony even comes with conditions apply. The web series will showcase the everyday banter and camaraderie that is being relatable with several situations that are a part and parcel of every couple’s life. The series has been streaming on the platform since July 22.
Gujarati rom-com ‘Do Not Disturb’ is another presentation of MX Players that follows the bedroom conversations of a modern couple essayed by Manasi Parekh Gohil and Malhar Thakar, directed by Sandeep Patel of ‘Love Ni Bhavai’and has received a lot of acclaim. The series has been written by writers Mitai Shukla and Nehal Bakshi and streams for free July 26 onwards on MX Player.
