Munawar Faruqui DENIED permission to perform in Delhi show for THIS reason

The winner of the Lock Upp, Munawar Farooqui, was to perform in Delhi on August 28. The Delhi Police, however, fear that Faruqui’s concert may “affect communal peace,” hence the show has been canceled. After the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) requested that Munawar’s performance be canceled in a letter to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, the police reportedly denied the comedian’s request.

According to the most recent sources, Vishwa Hindu Parishad accused Munawar of creating “communal unrest in Bhagyanagar because of jokes he made on Hindu Gods” in a letter to the commissioner of the Delhi Police on August 25. He further stated in the letter that the Bajrang Dal and the VHP would protest if Munawar’s presentation was not canceled. The play will impact “community cohesion in the area,” according to a report that was written by the neighborhood’s central district police. The comedian was then denied permission to perform in the city by Joint Commissioner of Police, Licensing, OP Mishra.

This is not the first time Munawar has encountered a similar circumstance. His events have been canceled in the past as well. His comic show in Bengaluru was postponed yet more last week. According to reports, the Bengaluru Police called off the exhibition because its organizers failed to obtain prior approval to stage the event.

In the meantime, Munawar Faruqui made a reputation for himself in the professional world after winning Ekta Kapoor’s reality series Lock-Upp. According to rumors, Faruqui would appear next in the Salman Khan-hosted reality series Bigg Boss 16.
