The B Town films released last Friday Mulk and Karwaan seemed content driven film hence, were able to embark upon with positive reviews from the critics and thus have shown some good growth after Friday in the first two day of the first weekend of the movie. Let’s talk about Karwaan, the film had a low collection on the first day on Friday but seemed better than Fanney Khan and Mulk. The film opened up 2.75 crore on Friday and a collection of around 2.81 crore at the box office. There was some amount of escalation on Sunday reaching to around 4.25 crore giving a decent grosser despite having low star cast particularly when compared to Fanney Khan.
As per reports, the 1st weekend box office collection of Karwaan reached to around 9.81Cr, which seems to be a decent collection for the film despite having a low buzz as compared to the other two films. This is primarily due to the good reviews created a decent buzz in the media. The film is likely to have a decent week days collection that can cross 20 crore mark for sure. Also, the presence of Irrfan Khan has also helped the film to improve in terms of box office. Now, let’s look at the collection of the other movie – Mulk. Similar was the story of this film as when compared the way it has performed in the first weekend.
The film did jump at the box office on the other day with a meager collection on Friday reaching to around 1.50 crore. The Saturday did see a surge with the collection reaching to 2.5 crore, while Sunday was again a higher trend that reached to around 3.75 giving a decent collection for the film. So, the 1st weekend box office collection for Mulk reached to around 7.75 crore at the box office. The experts feel the film would have similar collections in the first week giving a decent collection at the box office.
