Mohenjo Daro the film Directed by legendary filmmaker, Ashutosh Gowarikar, this movie is still in its gestation stage. Very much like Gowarikar’s previous films, this one too will be a historical biopic and is going to draw upon the lives and culture of the historical Indus Valley Civilization that has graced every history book and is considered the most modern and indigenous culture of all times.
The star cast of the crew will comprise of the dynamic and versatile Hrithik Roshan, Sonakshi Sinha as well as Sushant Singh Rajput. The latter who made his debut with Kai Po Che has already caught the attention of several renowned filmmakers, looking to cast fresh faces. He has his kitty full with film contracts signed with major producers such as Aditya Sharma. Hrithik Roshan was director Gowarikar’s first choice as he felt no one else could deliver and portray the same intensity, the role required, as Hrithik himself. This film also introduces a fresh pairing in terms of Hrithik and Sonakshi, and if sources are to be believed, the latter is quite paranoid about stepping into the shoes of a female lead in a Gowarikar film. To top it all she is also pitted against the flawless Hrithik, and must deliver herself in such a manner that she is not overshadowed by the glitz and glamour of the film itself.
Shooting for this film has already begun in October this year and is expected to hit the screens before Republic Day 2016. Major parts of the movie are being shot in South Africa, to create the effects of rustic civilization and the ruins. Emmy award winning fashion designer has been roped in to customize the costumes of the cast of this film. One can surely expect a lot of elaborate color, celebration and drama in this three hour long historical epic.
