‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ Box Office Day 7: Arjun Kapoor’s Rom-Com Struggles, Earns Rs. 6.7 Crore in Week 1
In a twist on the classic love triangle, Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh brought audiences a love circle with their romantic comedy Mere Husband Ki Biwi. However, the film has struggled to draw audiences to theatres. Despite a week-long box office run, the movie has managed a total collection of just ₹6.7 crore, according to a Sacnilk report. On its first Thursday, the film earned a mere ₹0.43 crore, continuing its disappointing performance.
Predictions from trade experts had anticipated a decent opening for the film. However, reality painted a different picture as Mere Husband Ki Biwi earned ₹1.5 crore on Day 1, securing the title of the second-worst opener of 2025 so far. (The lowest-grosser remains Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa, which opened to ₹1.15 crore.)The film saw a slight rise on Day 2, earning ₹1.7 crore with a 13% jump. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. Collections dropped to ₹1.25 crore on Day 3, ₹0.6 crore on Day 4, ₹0.58 crore on Day 5, and ₹0.57 crore on Day 6. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film’s overall occupancy rate on its first Thursday fell to 9.64%, down from 12.59% on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mere Husband Ki Biwi faced stiff competition from Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s historical drama Chhaava, which continues to dominate with an incredible ₹398.25 crore collection over two weeks.
Despite its struggles, the film received mixed reviews, with one consistent highlight being Arjun Kapoor’s performance, which has been widely praised. However, the lackluster box office performance suggests the love circle failed to resonate with audiences.
