The passing Friday, we had two mid budget films hitting the theatres, which included Masaan. The film has been applauded at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival with two awards. This has made some sort of buzz in the media. The film had Sanjay Mishra, Richa Chadda, Vicky Kaushal and Shweta Tripathi. The film has two stories, which culminate at the end. At the same time, it addresses all the social stigma and issues, which the country is pitted with despite entering into the modern world. Despite having rich content and making the country proud in overseas lands, the film failed to get a good opening.
As per reports, the first weekend box office collection for Masaan tolled to around 3.25 crores. The collection was same as expected as it was a niche movie, which can attract the crowd only who is keen in catching up such movies. On the other side, the other movie Aisa Yeh Jahaan starring Palash Sen and Ira Dubey failed to impress the audience, however, the Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan continued to the rule the audience. The week days collection is likely to be seen low as with no audience turning up to get a fewer collection at the end of the day.
