According to sources, Prawaal Raman is said to have acquired the rights from the Indian investigating officer Amond Kant, who is said to have worked on Charles Sobhraj case for making a film that is based upon the incidents that he had noticed.
This movie captures 1986 well known Tihar jail break and the lead character of Charles Sobhraj is played by Randeep Hooda. Earlier it was Pooja Bhatt who was producing it, giving the title of Bad. However, differences arose midway during the shoot and title and Pooja, both could not get associated to the movie, which was later changed to Main Aur Charles.
It is regarded to be an Indian mainstream feature film which tells fictitious tale of Charles a conman. It is also considered to be a biopic that is much different and essays on the role of Charles Sobhraj, who way back in 1986 had hit the headlines throughout the country.
