Review
In a way one can call Lucknow Central to be a feel-good kind of movie having the human, prison-break drama, which is smart enough to manipulate you emotionally, despite being a bit predictable at times. Though one may find some sort or similarity with the earlier movie released called Qaidi Band, but Lucknow Central can be seen with some incredible kind of execution and is way more evolved. The director has smartly able to play with the elements of human alienation. Indeed the director’s sensibility is seen resonating with a good star cast.
Now talking about the performances, Ronit Roy in his negative role was seen overshadowing the others in a very professional fashion, while Farhan too has tried to give an able performance. However, his efforts to bring the entire film over his shoulder seems to be vanishing to a great extent. On the other side, the character of Ronit Roy was reduced making him a toothless tiger at the end. Perhaps this is where the director has falter, ironically he was simply trying to follow the same old rule of giving all due credit to the actors in positive role and not people with negative characters.
Hence Ronit Roy seems to be the victim of this age old rule of Bollywood wherein the actors in the lead role is often seen carrying the responsibility to make it a hit. Well, talking about the other elements like screenplay, script, music and other elements, the film seemed to hav scored high marks giving all together a decent rating for the movie. Even the technical elements like editing, photography and other similar things seemed to do well over the screen. These elements have contributed a lot in making the movie a good catch at the screen.
Lucknow Central The Last Word
The film is all about music apart from raising a pertinent question when we see the powerless can be reduced to dirt for even raising a voice against the men with power. It has touched several lethal reality issues, which end up becoming a cool tale.
