The latest Telugu movie called Lion from Nandamuri Balakrishna seems to have made a decent performance in terms of collection not just in domestic market but also from the global audience. Lion is among the highly marketed movie in Telugu film industry in 2015, hence it has a good buzz, which has raised expectations of the film. The trade experts were expecting big out of this film. It was expected to see a good opening but things really didn’t turned that way.
Having released in around 100 screens with mostly in the south the film was able to collect only 5.5 crores on its first day. Though the experts are calling it a decent figure yet it failed to exceed the collection of the movie Legend. The film also got a mixed review, which hampered the word of mouth buzz for it to some extent. However, the very next day collection dropped by 50 percent, which dismayed the filmmakers.
As per reports, the movie failed to roar on the box office as expected by the critics and trade pundits. As per reports, the movie got good response from states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Northern States in India and even in the market of the US and Canada. The first weekend collection of Lion tolled to around 18 crores, which is less than expected. However, the experts are expecting some surge in the coming week.
