Legal Trouble Hits ‘Haunted – Echoes Of The Past’ Ahead of June Release

The upcoming horror film “Haunted – Echoes Of The Past,” directed by Vikram Bhatt and starring Mimoh Chakraborty, has run into serious legal trouble just weeks before its planned release on June 12, 2026. A public notice has been issued to the film industry warning against releasing, streaming, or promoting the movie. This is due to a legal dispute involving the production company, Hare Krishna Media Tech Pvt. Ltd., which is currently being handled by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).

The trouble started when the NCLT issued a “status quo” order in April 2026, which means no major actions or changes regarding the company’s assets should be made while legal proceedings are active. Because the company is undergoing an insolvency process, a court-appointed official has stated that moving forward with the film’s release would violate this legal order.

This warning is directed at everyone in the business, including theater owners, distributors, and OTT platforms. The notice makes it clear that any company that helps show or monetize the film could face serious legal consequences, including contempt of court. For now, the future of the film remains uncertain until the tribunal gives further instructions on whether it can legally be released.
