Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor have first time paired up on screen for their first horror comedy. The film that was earlier titled Rooh-Afza is now called RoohiAfza and audiences simply can’t wait for it!
Janhvi Kapoor has recently begun the shooting for RoohiAfza alongside Rajkummar Rao. The starlet who became an instant hit and favourite making her debut with Dhadak had expressed her immense joy on staring a new journey on Instagram, sharing even the new name of the film. Earlier, it was titled Rooh-Afza but the clapboard in her post read, RoohiAfza.
The name of the film comes from Janhvi’s double role in the film as she plays both Roohi and Afza. Detailing Janhvi’s character in the film, source has revealed, “She plays Roohi and Afza who are the polar opposites of each other. While one is chirpy, the other is subdued, both equally sweet.”
Finally the preview of the same of has been coming up. That’s right; Janhvi Kapoor’s look from RoohiAfza has been leaked online and making a lot of buzz out there. Carrying a salwar kameez, Janhvi looks like any ordinary small town girl. She also appears miserable and helpless making the audiences wonders what situation she could be around. Well, for that we all need to wait for the film to unveil.
Taking to the film, it is set in the small town of Moradabad and features Janhvi’s double role as supported by Rajkummar Rao and Varun who find themselves in scary situations as the story flows. The film is being directed by Hardik Mehta who has been the script-supervisor for Lootera and Queen, as well. This is going to be the first time Rajkummar and Janhvi will be sharing screen space together.
The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, is slated to release on March 20, 2020. Apart from this, Janhvi is also busy on her projects working alongside Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Anil Kapoor in Karan Johar’s Takht. The period drama is set for 2020 release. Janhvi also is working for Gunjan Saxena biopic titled Kargil girl. It stands as the story of a brave pilot who flew a fighter plane in the Kargil war zone in 1999 to save soldiers and earned a medal for her selfless act.
