FACT: Vicky Kaushal auditioned for Mohinder Amarnath’s role in Kabir Khan’s 83 which was later played by Saqib Saleem

Vicky Kaushal went back to work after having a dream destination wedding with Katrina Kaif earlier this month. Vicky is presently busy shooting with Sara Ali Khan for an untitled project. The two had been casted in two projects ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’ and Laxman Utekar’s untitled film. It is yet unknown what film they have picked first to shoot.

MVicky Kaushal also has ‘Sam Bahadur’, ‘Govinda Mera Naam’, ‘The Great Indian Family’ and ‘Takht’ in his pipeline.

However, in a very interesting update it has been reported that Vicky was considered for cricketer Mohinder Amarnath’s role in Kabir Khan’s ’83’. According to the reports the ‘Raazi’ actor did audition for the role, and director Kabir Khan was very keen on him playing the role.

“The audition happened before ‘Raazi’ released and became a hit, after which he preferred to opt out of the project as he didn’t want to play the second lead in the film. Although Kabir Khan was keen that Vicky play Mohinder Amarnath’s role,” a source was quoted as saying.

However, Saqib Salem was later cast for the role and he played Mohinder Amarnath in ’83’. The film was released in theatres on December 24.

In terms of his professional life, a photo of Vicky riding a bike with Sara seated behind him recently went viral on social media. Sara donned a yellow patterned saree and a sweater, while Vicky wore a green t-shirt and blue pants.

Vicky will play Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in Meghna Gulzar’s next film ‘Sam Bahadur.’ His first look from the picture had been well praised.
