Kulbhushan Kharbanda is a veteran actor from Bollywood, and he also works in Punjabi movies. He was born on 21st October 1944 in British India in Hassanabdal, (Dist Attock) in Punjab. After partition left Punjab, while he got his schooling at schools from places like Jodhpur, Delhi, Dehradun, and Aligarh. He completed his graduation from the Delhi University college -Kirori Mal College in New Delhi. He got married to a lady of a royal family in 1963, and the couple has a daughter Shruti who is into Jewellery Designing. He got involved in a theatre group in the sixties and got his first break in Hindi cinema in a film called Jadu Ka Shankh in 1974.

Before getting his big break, he had worked in different parallel cinema and then got the break in 1974. Some of his classic movies include Arth by Mahesh Bhatt along with Ek Chadar Maili Si, Fire, Earth and Water. Shaan was the big hit that made him popular for his role of Shakaal. Some of his mid movies include Ghayal, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Border, Gupt, Refugee, Yes Boss and Monsoon Wedding. Some of his recent movies include Soorma, Aatishbazi Ishq (Punjabi), Azhar, Dictator (Telugu), Brothers, Haider, and Zed Plus to name a few.

Besides films, he has also acted in TV serials like Shanno Ki Shaadi and Mahi Ve. As we know he started his career with theatres, some of his plays include Teen Farishtay, Baki Itihaas, Hatya ek Akaar Ki, Ek Shunya Bajirao, Sakharam Binder, Guinea Pig, Girdhade, and the recent one called Atmakatha. Currently, he is doing a web series called Mirzapur, which was aired at Amazon Prime. Unfortunately, despite having a long career in films, he did not manage to get any award except once when he was nominated at the Filmfare in 1986 for the Best Supporting Actor Award for the film Ghulami but failed to win the award.
