From Amitabh Bachchan to Ajay Devgn, Bollywood’s testing time begins

Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, or Ajay Devgn: the names are enough to indicate the term ‘Bollywood Biggies’. Whether it is Khans or Kapoors, every big name is struggling to survive in the industry despite their tremendous star power. No doubt, the boycott trend and the demand for content-rich movies have made everything unpredictable.

Hindi Cinema seems to be in great difficulty as Bollywood’s big-budget movies like ‘Shamshera’, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, Laal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ failed to gain the audience’s approval.

Even so, some diverse sets of films with star castings like Amitabh Bachan, Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varn Dhawan, and Kriti Sanon are in the queue for release.

Amid these lined-up releases, the biggest question that raises among the distributors is whether these films guarantee ‘Achche Din’ of Hindi Cinema. Well, let’s discuss it one by one with the latest upcoming releases.

Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra

Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Brahmastra’ directed by Ayan Mukherji, is the first film inching towards theatrical release. The project has complete star power with the involvement of Amitabh Bachchan and South star Naga Chaitanya in it. It will enter the theatres on September 9.

Brahmastra is planned to be a three-part series and marks the beginning of India’s first ever universe named ‘Astraverse’. The fresh cinematic universe is adopted from strong old concepts and stories in Indian mythology but showcased in the modern era.

In a media interview, Ayan Mukherji stated: I have done so much work for this movie for a long time, so I am peaceful and confident about it.”

Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s Vikram Vedha

After Brahmastra, Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s Vikram Vedha will make their way to theatres. A film based on an old folk tale is a remake of a Tamil hit movie directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, who are involved in directing the Hindi version too.

The much-awaited movie will narrate the story of a tough police officer who is on a mission to find a menacing gangster. It is scheduled for September 30 release and also features Radhika Apte in a pivotal role.

Amitabh Bachchan starrer Goodbye

Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandana, and Neena Gupta starrer ‘Goodbye’ is next on the list coming on October 7. Makers claim that the film is heart touching story about family, life, and relationships.

Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu & Ajay Devgn’s Thank God

Akshay Kumar, after his three consecutive flops, will now be seen in ‘Ram Setu’. An interesting thing is that it will clash with another film that too with a stellar star cast equal to the popularity of Akshay. It is none other than Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn. Ajay\s Thank God will Compete with Akshay’s Ram Setu at the box office as both the films are set for October 24 release i.e. Diwali.

Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s Drishyam 2

Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s Drishyam 2 will be the next to release with November 18 slot. Amid the changing likes of the audience, there are fewer chances of sequels working out these days. Looking at Ek Villain Returns’ failure despite the star power, nothing can be predicted.

Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya

After the average performance of Jug Jug Jeeyo at the Box office, Varun Dhawan will now be seen in Bhediya alongside Kriti Sanon. It is a horror comedy helmed by Amar Kaushik and set to release on November 25.

Ayushmann’s An Action Hero

This will be the first release in December. The film is being promoted as an artful actioner with a pinch of satirical humour. It will tell us about an artist’s life journey both in front and behind the cameras.

Ranveer Singh’s Cirkus

Ranveer Kapoor has a recent flop Jayeshbhai Jordaar to worry about. The actor will grab a chance to change his fortune with Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, coming this year on December 23.

The actor and director, both are taking a big risk with this big-budget project that too during the times of boycott trends. Its story has been taken from Shakespeare’s play ‘The Comedy of Errors’.

Salman Khan’s Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwai

And the year will end with Salman’s Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali which will release on December 30. Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gil, and other popular faces will also star in the most-talked project.

Only time will tell which film will be appreciated by the audience and which will face their wrath by getting boycotted or landing into unnecessary troubles. Stay tuned to know.
