Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta in Discussions to Star in Progressive Relationship Drama by Dharmatic Entertainment: Report

Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital wing of Dharma Productions led by Karan Johar, is expanding its repertoire with an exciting new female-led film for Netflix. The project is eyeing Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta, known for their roles in Laapataa Ladies, to take on the lead roles.While specific plot details are still being kept under wraps, sources suggest that the film will be a progressive relationship drama with comedic elements. Anubhuti Kashyap, who recently directed Doctor G starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh, has been chosen to helm this project.

The script, crafted by the talented writing duo of Sima Agarwal and Yash Keshwani, known for their work on films like Anek and Khaali Peeli, promises to bring the story to life. Currently in the pre-production stage, filming for the project is expected to commence in September-October 2024.This collaboration marks a reunion between Anubhuti Kashyap and Dharma Productions. Kashyap was signed on by the production banner even before her directorial debut, Doctor G, hit the theaters in 2022.

Interestingly, she was previously associated with a romantic comedy for Dharma, featuring Ishaan Khatter and Triptii Dimri, although that project did not come to fruition.In the meantime, Konkona Sen Sharma has an upcoming project titled Metro… In Dino, an anthology film directed by Anurag Basu, set to release on November 29. She also has a short film called Chashma, directed by editor Nitin Baid, in the pipeline. Rumor has it that she is in talks with Junglee Pictures for a thrilling project.Pratibha Ranta, on the other hand, is enjoying the success of Laapataa Ladies and has already signed on for a romantic film opposite Vikrant Massey.
