Shabir Ahluwalia QUITS Ekta Kapoor’s KumKum Bhagya for better career opportunities?
Shabir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha’s ‘KumKum Bhagya’ is one of the most popular daily soaps on television. The show directed by television queen Ekta Kapoor had managed to gain a lot of praise and has made its place in many hearts. Abhi-Pragya’s sizzling chemistry is one of the major highlights of the show.
However, it’s been a few months now both Shabir and Sriti have been missing from the show. Now according to the reports the actor has left the show.
As per the information, Shabir, who has been a part of the show for seven years, has opted to leave to take his acting career ahead. The reports also suggested that he has handed in his papers following a consensual decision between the showrunner and the actor.
A source close to the development was quoted saying, “Shabir and Ekta (Kapoor, producer of the daily soap) are friends and remain cordial. Everything was done without any hassle. However, the network doesn’t intend to officially talk about their exit.”
However, no official statement has come from the actor or the makers. It is said that the “makers of ‘KumKum Bhagya’ are focusing on the newer generation of characters for a few weeks now.”
According to the source, Shabir Ahluwalia is in talks for a new show on a different channel. Producer Yash Patnaik will allegedly direct the untitled series, which is expected to begin filming by the end of March.
HT quoted a source as saying, “Shabbir is almost finalised. He hasn’t signed the dotted line but has given his verbal confirmation.”
KumKum Bhagya premiered in 2014, and Shabir and Sriti have been a part of the show since the beginning. The two got missing following the accident sequence in the current track.
