Prithviraj, a film starring Akshay Kumar, will be released in less than two weeks, and the Karni Sena, which had previously protested the film’s title, recently stated that they had seen the film and were satisfied with the portrayal of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. The Karni Sena is now demanding a title change as the newest development in this issue. The Karni Sena has requested that the film’s producers and director include the term Samrat to the title in their most recent email. They want Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan to be the title of the film.
Surjeet Singh Rathore, from the Karni Sen spoke to ETimes stating, “We have met Akshaye Widhani, the CEO of Yash Raj films and they have promised to make the change to the title. They have agreed to honour our demand.”
While the film’s producers and Yash Raj reps were unavailable for comment, certain film industry sources told ETimes that they were unaware of any developments concerning the title change of this Akshay Kumar starrer.
ETimes shared this update with Rathore who reacted and said, “If they don’t make the change and don’t hold a screening of the film, Prithviraj will not release in Rajasthan. We have already warned the exhibitors of Rajasthan about the same. If the title of the film does not change to Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, we will not allow them to show the film in Rajasthan.”
