Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions Takes Full Control of Talent Venture After Amicable Split with Cornerstone

Dharma Productions has acquired 100% ownership of Dharma Cornerstone Agency (DCA) following an amicable restructuring with Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment, according to The Economic Times. The two partners have decided to pursue independent strategies going forward.
As part of the deal, Dharma bought out Cornerstone’s 45% stake in the talent management LLP, gaining full economic rights and contributions in the venture. Financial details of the buyout remain undisclosed. The talent roster under the agency—including stars like Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Tiger Shroff, Harshvardhan Rane, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and others—is expected to remain with Dharma, which will continue managing ongoing and future projects.
Financially, the joint venture saw its turnover rise from ₹77 crores in FY24 to ₹110 crores in FY25, while net profit slightly declined from ₹14 crores to ₹12 crores. Industry insiders suggest that Dharma’s full control will enable a more integrated talent strategy, aligning management, training, and development closely with its film and digital content pipelines.
Dharma CEO Apoorva Mehta and Cornerstone’s Bunty Sajdeh declined to comment. Experts note that such consolidation can streamline casting decisions, long-term career planning, and brand strategies, especially as the creator economy and influencer-led intellectual property continue to grow.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone will continue independently through Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment, aiming to expand its footprint across sports, entertainment, and digital talent. Its clientele includes names like K L Rahul, Sidhant Chaturvedi, Sania Mirza, and Manu Bhaker. This move complements broader consolidation at Dharma. As reported by The Economic Times, Dharmatic Entertainment merged into Dharma Productions effective April 1, 2025, following Adar Poonawalla’s acquisition of a 50% stake in Dharma for ₹1,000 crores, positioning the studio for its next growth phase.
Earlier in October, the popular Btown portal – Bollywood Hungama reported that Dharmatic Entertainment, Dharma’s digital arm, officially merged with its parent company to consolidate operations amid the evolving entertainment landscape. Stay tuned for more only with us.
