Tv celebs on Republic day: Being responsible must towards fundamental Duties

68 years ago the Indian constitution came into force after a long struggle of freedom from British rule. India did not have a fixed or permanent constitution since 1950 after India got its independence in 1947. Dr Rajendra Prasad took oath on this day as India’s first president of India. This day, since then, holds great significance to us. The eve of Republic day is marked by a speech made by the President of India and on January 26 a grand parade is held at Rajpat in New Delhi. Apart from enjoying the celebrations television celebrities pleads to be  more responsible towards our national duties and bring more peace and joy in the living.

Kamya Punjabi: Its the time we are enjoying our republic day. It would be difficult to conclude that whether India has really achieved anything substantial since the first Republic Day. While there has been progress and development and the people have more money to use, there is increase of genuine problems we face be it corruption, discrimination or security for females. We need to be more responsible towards our nation. Thats how the best republic day can be celebrated.

Gaurav Chopra: Republic day is an important time to realize our patriotism towards our country. And be concerned about our national duties. Every citizen of India is expected to be patriotic and pay importance and respect to its history. As important governmental laws and acts were laid down on this day and hence it also marks as a day of pride for every Indian.
