Kangana Ranaut requested to Mumbai court to record her sister’s statement in Javed Akhtar’s defamation case

Actress Kangana Ranaut has asked a Mumbai court to hear her sister Rangoli Chandel’s testimony in the defamation case that lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar has filed. In the defamation action initiated by lyricist Javed Akhtar, Kangana has requested that the court record her sister Rangoli Chandel’s testimony. The Queen actress appeared before the Mumbai court last month to give a statement. On behalf of the unnamed, Javed sued the actress for defamation in 2020, alleging that she had made slanderous comments about him in a public setting.

They have been at odds ever since, and their legal battle is ongoing. Ranaut recently went to the Mumbai court, requesting that Rangoli’s statement be recorded in the case, according to the most current reports. She presented her motion to Metropolitan Magistrate R. R. Khan on Friday through her attorney, Rizwan Siddique. On August 11, it is said that the court maintained the situation’s order.

According to reports, Kangana Ranaut said in her suit that the lyricist had summoned her and her sister Rangoli to his home as a result of their public altercation with “malafide intentions and ulterior objectives, and then illegally harassed and threatened” her. The actress from Tanu Weds Manu claimed that Javed had compelled her to write her co-star an apology.

After actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away in November 2020, Javed Akhtar alleged that Kangana made an unwanted reference to him when she spoke a “coterie” that existed in Bollywood. He said that her false accusations against him had seriously harmed his reputation.
