Riteish Deshmukh set to collaborate with renowned filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta for a web series on ‘pharma industry’

Actor-producer Riteish Deshmukh who is enjoying the triumph of his maiden directorial venture ‘Ved’, is now ready to make his web series debut. As per latest media reports, the actor is set to play the lead in renowned filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta’s upcoming web series centered around the pharmaceutical industry in India.

According to Pinkvilla, Gupta has long been interested in this intriguing subject, and he believes that the OTT platform is the ideal medium for bringing it to life in its entirety. The show’s filming has already begun in Chandigarh, demonstrating the synergy between Gupta’s idea and Deshmukh’s talent.

“It’s a very interesting story, which Raj Kumar Gupta has been wanting to share for a while. He feels that long form format will do complete justice to the script, which is why he chose the digital route for this one. He feels Riteish Deshmukh is perfect for the lead part, and the duo have also started shooting for it in Chandigarh,” a source close to the web series told Pinkvilla.

The yet to be titled project is being supported by producer Ronnie Screwvala, with whom Gupta shares a strong working relationship. Screwvala has earlier produced Raj Gupta’s critically acclaimed directorial ventures such as “Aamir,” “No One Killed Jessica,” and “Ghanchakkar.

Raj Gupta’s last directorial venture was Arjun Kapoor- starrer India’s Most Wanted (2019). The film received mixed response from the critics and ultimately turned out to be a flop at the box office.

Meanwhile, Riteish Deshmukh will be next seen in horror-comedy ‘Kakuda’ where he will be seen sharing screen with Sonakshi Sinha and Saqib Saleem. The film is directed by Aditya sarpotdar. The horror-comedy film follows a town trapped in time by a curse and 3 of its inhabitants face a ghost that makes them question superstition, tradition and love.
