Kaafir trailer released starring Dia Mirza, Mohit Raina in an intense avatar

The much talked web series, Kaafir marks the digital debut of Dia Mirza’s debut. The web series also stars Mohit Raina and is set to premiere on June 15 on ZEE5. The trailer of ZEE5’s Kaafir, starring Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina, is finally out. The audiences had already been witting for the release since long. Set and shot in the valleys of Kashmir, the series follows the journey of a journalist/lawyer seeking justice for an alleged militant.

Dia plays the role of the alleged militant who has been behind bars since many years. The trailer also features Dia’s young daughter along with dialogue conversations suggesting that she was born behind the bars. Mohit Raina plays the role of a popular journalist and he also happens to be a lawyer, ready to once again start his practice to get justice for her.

The series has been written by Bhavani Iyer, who is also known for her wonderful works on Raazi. The events showed in the web series, Kaafir is all inspired from real-life story. Sonam Nair has directed the series.

Talking to a media platform, Dia Mirza stated a lot about this upcoming web series, Kaafir mentioning, “Without revealing too much, I can tell you that it is based on true events. A story like this needs to be told. It is the most compelling, heart-rendering and beautiful story I have ever heard. I feel extremely lucky to play Kainaaz. The character and the places that it goes, I haven’t done that before.”

This project marks the digital debut of Dia’s debut about which she mentioned on a digital platform, saying, “What was considered small budget films are doing phenomenal numbers. The content-driven films are no more just risk-taking projects. Also, credible talent is backing such films. The audience is not just evolving but appreciating good stories also.”

Kaafir is to start streaming on ZEE5 from June 15.
