Last Friday, we had two movies releasing, which certainly include Jia Aur Jia and Rukh. Both the films were of different genre but these certainly had some content to watch. However, none of the movies had higher star value, which prompted the audience to catch. Ironically, the B Town movie lovers are lured with star power and not the content of the film. Well, let’s talk about the Jia Aur Jia first and check the way the film has performed over the 1st weekend. The film as said was of a different genre and thus was a women centric movie, which seemed to have some amount of buzz in the media, but it failed to translate into the box office collection.
As per reports, the 1st weekend box office collection for Jia Aur Jia netted to around 7.5 crore, which is still a decent collection considering the fact that the film was made with an average budget and it failed to promote in the media without much hype and fuss. Also, the star value seems less as compared to any other movie released last week. The experts feel that the collection with move ahead with similar pace and not much is expected from the film. Now, talking about the other film called Rukh. The film didn’t work well on the box office for obvious reason.
Despite having good ratings by most of the critics, the film failed to attract the audience. The movie, which is based on the 18 years old school boy whose life goes upside down when he is hit by his father’s sudden demise. However, when he comes back he tries to find out the mystery calling it an accident. The film, however, managed to get a decent rating by most of the critics but it failed to transform it to a decent collection. As per reports, the 1st weekend box office collection for Rukh netted to around 4.5 crores. The films released on the eve of Diwali like Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar seemed to be doing better over the box office.
