Jaya Bachchan calls HNY the most nonsensical movie

Jaya-Bachchan on Happy New Year

Believe it or not, but it seems that the Bachchans are making constant headlines. When you have Big B’s name being dragged in the Anti Sikh Riots of 1984, on the other side, you have Jaya Bachchan coming into limelight, when she called the movie Happy New Year the most nonsensical film. Recently she was seen at the event called LitFest organised by Tata Literature Live Mumbai wherein she called her own son’s character of Nandu as absurd in the movie HNY to which she called it as one of the most nonsensical movie.

According to her, she has conveyed this to the lead actors of the movie but could watch only due to her own son. She alleged that these days the movies are made with little sense, without any art and just made to make money out of it. So, at the end of the day, it is nothing but pure business, thus keeping the movie away from the real art and literature. She later said that she has stopped working in the movies as most of them lack the real essence. Jaya has been the part of some classic movies giving her best performance in movies like Guddi, Upahar, Bawarchi, Mili, Zanjeer, Abhiman, etc. Some of her recent movies include Kal Ho Na Ho, Fiza, etc.
