Jaipur Consumer Court Issues Notice to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff Over Misleading Pan Masala Ad

We kept on hearing Bolo Zubaa Kesri by the top stars of Bollywood including SRK, Tiger Shroff and Ajay Devgn. Now, they have a different slogan, which seemed to have been costing them hard. Yes, its right, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Jaipur has served notices to Bollywood celebrities Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff concerning an allegedly misleading advertisement for a pan masala brand. The notice also names Vimal Kumar Agarwal, chairman of JB Industries, the company responsible for Vimal Pan Masala.

The commission has scheduled a hearing for all parties involved on March 19 at 10 AM. Led by chairman Gyarsilal Meena and member Hemlata Agarwal, the commission warned that failure to attend the hearing could lead to an ex parte decision. The accused have been instructed to provide their responses within 30 days of receiving the notice.

This action follows a complaint from Yogendra Singh Badiyal, a Jaipur-based advocate, who claims that the advertisement misleadingly promotes the product by stating, “daane daane mein hai kesar ka dum” (every grain contains the power of saffron). Badiyal argues that this statement misleads consumers into believing the pan masala has health benefits, when, in fact, it contains no saffron whatsoever. He raised concerns that such misinformation could lead to serious health risks, including ailments as severe as cancer.

According to Badiyal, this deceptive marketing strategy is enabling the company to reap substantial profits while promoting a product that poses significant health risks. He has called for legal action against both the manufacturer and the endorsing actors, requesting a ban on the product and its advertisement. Additionally, he advocates for imposing a hefty fine on those involved for allegedly misleading and endangering public health.

Remember earlier, Akshay Kumar was also the part of this ad and he was brutally cornered by his fans, which led him to apologize before the netizens. As of now, neither the actors nor JB Industries has issued an official response to these allegations. Stay tuned for more only with us!
