Jackky Bhagnani Returns to Acting with Patriotic Anthem ‘Tere Rang Mein’, Aims to Earn Gen Z’s Respect
After a six-year hiatus from acting, Jackky Bhagnani has made his return to the screen with the patriotic anthem “Tere Rang Mein,” released through his own record label, Jjust Music. The actor-producer revealed that returning to performance through a cause close to his heart felt like the right move, explaining that his deep patriotic roots made this project the ideal catalyst for stepping back in front of the camera after spending years dedicated to filmmaking behind the scenes.
Reflecting on his time away from acting, Bhagnani explained that focusing on film production was a deliberate choice aimed at gaining complete creative autonomy over his work. Stepping into the producer’s chair allowed him to shape projects from the ground up, ensuring his artistic choices would stand strong on their own merits without being questioned by industry skeptics.
However, Bhagnani candidly admitted that even during periods when his projects achieved commercial success, he felt a persistent lack of creative respect as an actor. A major drive behind his current career phase is connecting with a younger demographic. He expressed a strong desire to earn genuine street credibility and artistic respect from Gen Z, hoping younger audiences recognize his creative vision and hands-on effort behind the projects he champions.
Moving forward, Bhagnani insists he has no interest in accepting routine roles simply to maintain a presence on screen. Instead, he is holding out for something truly disruptive and innovative for his next major film role, emphasizing that any future acting choices will be entirely guided by scripts that push creative boundaries.
Beyond his own career milestones, Bhagnani shared enthusiastic praise for his wife, actor Rakul Preet Singh, who is set to portray Surpanakha in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming cinematic epic, Ramayana: Part 1. Highlighting her established superstardom in South Indian cinema, Bhagnani expressed firm belief that this role will finally showcase the full range of her talent to Hindi-speaking audiences.
He acknowledged that Surpanakha is a notoriously complex character to bring to life, but noted that she approached the role with remarkable grace and elegance. The star-studded epic features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, and is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026.
