Jaat Box Office Day 12: Sunny Deol’s Action Drama Nears Gadar Milestone, Surpasses Salman Khan’s Sikandar

Addressing the speculation that the blockbuster success of Gadar 2 was merely a fluke attributed to the enduring popularity of the original Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2000), Bollywood actor Sunny Deol has once again demonstrated his status as a genuine superstar, capable of attracting audiences to theaters on his own. The ongoing success of his latest action film, Jaat, directed by Gopichand Malineni, reinforces Sunny’s box office prowess, with the film continuing to perform well even on its 12th day in theaters.
On Monday, Jaat reportedly earned a nett collection of ₹1.86 crore in India, according to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk. While this represented a 62.8% decline from its Sunday earnings of ₹5 crore, Jaat outperformed Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which earned only ₹1.75 crore on the same day. Notably, Sikandar had debuted with a much larger opening of ₹26 crore, compared to Jaat’s opening of ₹9.5 crore. As of now, Jaat’s total domestic nett collection stands at ₹76.26 crore, just ₹39 lakh shy of the lifetime earnings of the original Gadar, which totaled ₹76.65 crore. The film’s worldwide gross is currently at ₹98.7 crore.
Throughout the day, Jaat saw an overall occupancy rate of 10.36% in the Hindi market. Morning shows started at a modest 5.77%, but the occupancy gradually improved, reaching 10.01% in the afternoon. The evening shows recorded 12.06%, while night screenings saw a slight uptick to 13.60%.Featuring Randeep Hooda, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, and Vineet Kumar Singh, the film is penned by director Gopichand Malineni. The musical score is by Thaman S, with cinematography by Rishi Punjabi and editing by Navin Nooli. In her review for SCREEN, Shubhra Gupta commented, “Sacrificed at the altar of all that gruesome blood-letting and mutilated bodies hanging from the rafters and savaged women forced to huddle together in this Sunny Deol-Randeep Hooda-starrer is coherence and plot.”
