The Siddharth & Sonakshi starrer film called Ittefaq finally released last Friday with huge buzz in the media. The film despite the buzz in the media failed to earn as much it was expected to get over teh box office. The fact is the film had a meager collection not just on the first day of its release but it continued to the first weekend as well. The film collected around 4.05 Cr on the first day with 5.50 crore on the second day and on the third day the film again saw an escalation that reached to around 7.5 crores. This makes a meager collection from a film which is being made by the bigwigs of the Bollywood including Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar along with the original maker of the 1969 classic again with the same name.
Making official remake of any old classic cannot often work in this age. In fact, there are many attempts to convert the old classic films that were hit during the early advents but with their modern version failed to impress, similar is the story of the film Ittefaq. Now, as per reports, the 1st weekend box office collection for Ittefaq netted to around 11.55 crore, which is really not an impressive figure to count on. It seems that the Hollywood movie Thor has come in its way. Now, let’s talk about the other film in B Town called Ribbon. It has gained a good review but with a minimal or almost no promotion in the media, the film failed to garner a good buzz in the media.
As per reports, the film had a very low start with 2 crores on the first day and the collection reaching to 2.5 on the second day and finally 3.25 crore on the first Sunday. That gave a very meager kind of collection at the end of the first weekend. As per reports, the 1st weekend box office collection tolled to around 7.75 crore. The other films released earlier particularly the Golmaal Again still seems to be doing business as expected, which seems to have escalated to a new height. So, what do you say about the current box office verdict, do comment and let us know your views on it?
