Just when we hear someone calling Akshay Kumar a citizen from Canada after his interview with Mr. Modi, the Indian PM, we now hear similar things about Deepika Padukone. Her fans would be knowing that she was born in Denmark and hence she remains the citizen of the same. However, she refuted about the same and clarified that she does not hold a Danish passport and that she is very much Indian. The rumors were rife about holding a Danish passport during the election buzz and rumors suggested that she will not be able to vote in the current ongoing General elections.
She came forward to clarify on it stating that she holds only Indian passport and she is proud about it. Hence she will be voting in the coming elections. So, as we see her clearing her name about her citizenship, we can soon see in the election booth to vote her favorite candidate. It was during the press conference when she was asked about the same, she gracefully answered the questions and said that she is very much Indian as she holds an Indian passport and she is very much proud to be an Indian.
She further said that she would be voting in the ongoing elections for the new government. Now, talking about her work, she is busy with her next film Chaapak, which is based on the life of an acid attack survivor. This is her debut venture when it comes to production, while the film is directed by Meghna Gulzar. She has completed her first schedule shoot at Delhi with Vikrant Massey. The film is expected to hit the screens in January 2010. We see several of the movie stills including the kissing scene of the lady with Vikrant have gone viral in the media.
