‘I like all my characters, they are like my children’, says Supriya Pathak

Supriya Pathak has given us some memorable characters onscreen. From Hansa Parekh in ‘Khichdi’ to Dhankor Baa in ‘Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, she has proven her versatility as an actress. The actress is currently basking in the success of her latest release ‘Mimi’ which is continuing to win hearts of people. She spoke to News Helpline about the film, her vivid characters and her upcoming web show Cartel.

Talking about portraying varied characters on screen, she said, “I basically portray the characters of many women in the world. I try to see life from their perspective and try to portray what they feel rather than what I feel about the world. I enjoy playing so many characters on screen.”

Supriya Pathak is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and she is an amazing actress. What she liked most, she said, “Dance and acting are two different aspects of the creative process. I love acting the most but dance helped me as an actor. I never took any formal training for acting. But my dance training at Nalanda University helped me to emote my expressions through acting.”

Talking about her upcoming web series Cartel, she said, “I play the role of a very powerful woman who is the head of the Angre family in the show. She is a mafia head who is fighting in a man’s world. She not only handles people around her but her family too.”

Talking about her favourite character from that day, she said, “I like all my characters, they are all my children. I created them. But one character that I can slip in and slip out anytime is Hansa Parekh from Khichdi. She is a stressbuster for me.”
