Hunterrr Movie Review : An Indian Erotic Film With Comic Elements

hunterrr movie review

Hunterrr the adult sex comedy movie is hitting tomorrow starring Gulshan Devaiah, Radhika Apte and Sai Tamhankar who all are seen in the lead roles. The movie is directed and written by the talented filmmaker Harshavardhan Kulkarni. A slew of people are seen in the producer’s role, which also include Anurag Kashyap, which is the basic reason to see a couple of production houses making the sex comedy, which include Tailormade Films, Shemaroo Entertainment, Phantom Films and Falco. The music comes from Khamosh Shah, while the screenplay is carried out by Prajwal joshi. Now, let’s dig deep into the film and find out what’s good and bad as under:

The movie revolves around one unassuming sex addict and his lustful journey in life. Meet Mandar Ponkshe played by Mr. Gulshan Devaiya, he is a simple guy with no extra smart edge like a macho man kind of image in the place where he is based, having average looks and physique. However, he has a talent to woo woman. With his nerdy and geeky ideas, he flirts women and takes them to his bed to enjoy sex. Amidst all his efforts to bring down woman to enjoy his base desires, he is seen indulged into funny and strange kind of funny situations. Amidst his encounters for sex, he comes across Trupti played by Radhika Apte and Jyotsna played by Sai Tamhankar. The film is all about this man and way he indulges into several situations till he gets a big one. How, he comes out of the same is an interesting answer to find out, catch the film to see the interesting film in the theatres.

Taking about performances, let’s start with Gulshan Devaiya playing the character of Mandar, who is the nerd. Well, he has done not too many films except a few like Hate Story and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela in some intense role, however, with character like this which is a sex comedy; his image over the silver screen would change for sure. His performance for playing the character of Mandar seemed decent, though still cannot call it an exceptional one as he is trying this genre the first time. Yet he has tried to play the character very much skillfully, perhaps a man with a playboy kind of image could have played this character the best, nevertheless, he has been decent though in stepping down to the shoes of the character.

On the other side, the south Indian actress Radhika Apte who has been incredible in her previous Marathi movie Lai Bhari with Riteish Deshmukh too appeared better while playing her character of Trupti. She is new in B Tow movies, however, her talent and skillful acting was very well witnessed over the silver screen. After all, her exposure to a number of regional movies like Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Bengali films seems to have helped her a lot to play a decent character in Hunterrr. Similar was the story of the others including Sai Tamhankar. The script is simple and straight unlike any other comedy film, with this movie having sex at its core. The other elements like music and tracks of the film seem better and okay, yet not that effective to create the buzz for the film. Similar is the story of direction, screenplay and editing.

Hunterrr Review Last Word

The movie Hunterrr is a sex comedy, which revolves around a nerdy guy keen to enjoy sex with a slew of women. This simply makes the film for secluded audience based flick to catch. The subject sex comedy isn’t that popular in Indian audience, hence embarking with such kinds of film is really not a good idea. However, technically speaking the movies isn’t par in many ways, right from lose script, with keeping sex at the centre and not that cool performances of actors and other things. Hence the rating won’t be that great for the film.
