dilliwaali-zaalim-girlfriend movie review

One of the movies releasing this Friday is Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend. It is a comedy genre film, which is directed by Japinder Kaur and produced by Tarnpreet Singh and Manjeet Kaur under the banner called JAP Films. The movie has Divyendu Sharma, Jackie Shroff, Prachi Mishra and Ira Dubey in the lead roles. The music comes from Yo Yo Honey Singh along with others like Dr. Zeus, Hard Kaur, Jazzy B, Meet Bros and others. The movie is written by Manu Rishi, while the cinematography is carried out by Subbaiah Kuttappa. The film is an average budget movie, which falls under the category of comedy. Let’s dig deep into the film and find out the crux of the same.

Let’s start with the plot or the story of the film. The movie is basically a story of two innocent friends called Dhruv who is an aspiring IAS officer and another called Happy who is a fun guy. Then you have a girl called Sakshi who works in a Bank whom Dhruv loves a lot. In order to woo her he takes a loan from the same bank where the lady works, however, soon his life is seen like a roller coaster thing since Dhruv fails to return the money. Soon his car is seized from the bank and since then he is constantly encountering the superficial demands of his girl friend, which is known as Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend. For him life is a big mess, thanks to his friend and their common friend called Nimmy who takes the matter into her hands and thus expose the racket of fraud people managed my Minocha behind running the business of giving loans. In this process, he finds true love in the form of Nimmy, however, how is this man able get rid of this mess is an important question to find answer by catching the film.

Now, let’s talk about performances, the character of Dhruv is played by Divyendu Sharma, who is an exceptional actor. We have seen his incredible performances in previous movies like Filmography Pyar Ka Punchnama, Chashme Baddoor and the recent movie Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami. In fact for the character of Dhruv, he can be called as the perfect choice as he has the experience of playing girlfriend’s victim. Remember the character of Nishant alias Liquid in his debut movie, he has smartly played the said character, which speaks volumes about his dexterity of playing such roles and Dhruv was no exception as he has given a very good character. Others like Prachi Mishra who played the role of Sakshi was not that par as it was her debut movie, hence playing the first time over the silver screen was different for this former Miss India pageant. While Jackie Shroff playing the baddie character of Minocha really impressed one and all. Rest of the elements like screenplay, editing and cinematography too proved a bit better and was so was the case with direction.

Last word : Dilliwalli Zaalim Girlfriend  Review

Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend isn’t a new idea though but can be called as a same old wine served in a new bottle. The characters played by the actors were good and but in terms of script and plot seems to sing the same old tune. It gives you though an opportunity to laugh a lot with certain comic roles and characters but fails to impress in terms of novelty and creativity. In a sense can be called as nothing unusual over the silver screen making it just another film. Thus it doesn’t really deserve higher ratings.
