Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is set to captivate audiences with a special dance cameo in Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming gangster thriller, Maalik. The announcement has generated excitement among fans eagerly anticipating the film’s release on June 20, 2025. According to recent reports, Huma completed her shooting for the cameo last November. The film is directed by Pulkit and produced by Kumar Taurani under Tips Films and Jay Shewakramani’s Northern Lights Films.

A report by Mid-Day quoted a source revealing intriguing details about Huma’s sequence. “In the scene, Rajkummar’s character and his gang receive a tip-off that the person they’re after is at a local bar. They go to the bar for a quick job, where Huma is seen performing,” the source explained. The choreography is designed to be raw and earthy, reminiscent of the popular number “Chikni Chameli” from Agneepath (2012). Set against the backdrop of Allahabad and Lucknow, the filmmakers constructed a bar set reflective of those typically found in Lucknow.

The film Maalik marks Rajkummar Rao’s debut as a full-fledged gangster in an action thriller, a shift from his recent comedic roles in films like Stree 2 and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. The story follows Rao’s transformation from a petty criminal to a feared figure in the underworld, with production wrapping up in November 2024.
