Huma Qureshi again gets fat shamed for her visible weight gain
Fat-shaming actresses from Bollywood, other regional industries, and television has become the trend on social media these days. Now Huma Qureshi who is known for acting prowess has also fallen prey to this trend.
The actress was recently at the receiving end of criticism for her visible weight gain after she was spotted at the premiere of her friend Sonakshi Sinha’s web series debut ‘Dahaad’. She appeared for screening in a grey-colored wrap-around dress with a deep plunging neckline.
As soon as the video of her arrival went viral , few people on social media couldn’t get past her alleged weight gain and it led to brutal trolling & fat shaming from many in the comments.
One user wrote, “This not Huma this is xxl o maa ???
Another user wrote, “HUMAAA..QURESHI..AUR ITNEE MOTI??”
One more user wrote, “Bapre kitni moti hogae h ye”
This is not the first time Huma has been shamed for her visible weight gain. The actress has been fat-shamed in the past too. Huma had experienced similar fat-shaming in February 2023 when she attended an award presentation dressed in purple. Many social media users mocked and fat-shamed the actress, questioning whether she appeared pregnant. She wore a purple thigh-high split dress to the award event, which made her appear unusually overweight in one of the sideways camera shots.

Interestingly Huma and Sonakshi, two Bollywood actress who usually fall prey to this fat shaming on social media, had worked in Netflix’s comedy film ‘Double XL’, which also centered around two plus-size women who were regularly body-shamed and ended up proving that goals matter and challenging societal beauty standards.
Meanwhile, Huma was most recently seen in the multi-starrer neo-noir crime comedy thriller film ‘Monica, O My Darling’. The actress garnered a lot of praise for her work in the film. She has other projects in the works, including Indian food journalist Tarla Dalal’s biopic titled ‘Tarla,’ and Jio Studio’s gripping drama ‘Pooja Meri Jaan,’ in which she will appear alongside Mrunal Thakur and veteran Vijay Raaz.
