Hrithik Roshan’s Journey: From a Rs 100 First Paycheck to the Greek God of Bollywood, Celebrating His Birthday

Hrithik Roshan has emerged as one of the most beloved actors in recent years, captivating audiences not only in India but around the world. Known for his striking looks and extraordinary dancing skills, he has earned the moniker of ‘Bollywood’s Greek God.’

Today, on his birthday, Hrithik Roshan stands as a shining example of what can be accomplished through hard work, dedication, and sincerity. As he celebrates his 50th birthday, let us uncover some lesser-known facts about his remarkable journey in the industry.

Born on January 10, 1974, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Hrithik Roshan hails from a family deeply rooted in the Indian film industry. His father, Rakesh Roshan, is a renowned Bollywood actor and director, while his grandfather was a celebrated music director, and his uncle an established producer.

Prior to his breakthrough debut in the film “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” in 2000, Hrithik Roshan had a brush with the industry as a child artist. At the tender age of six, his grandfather surreptitiously cast him in the film “Aasha” in 1980, where he showcased his natural dancing talent on set, unaware of his role. Fondly known as Duggu among his friends and family, he later portrayed a significant role in “Bhagwaan Dada” (1986).

In this film, which featured Rajinikanth and Sridevi, Hrithik played Rajini’s adopted son. Even at the early stage of his career, he displayed his innate dancing prowess and had the opportunity to act alongside industry stalwarts. Hrithik’s character in the film held substantial importance, comparable to his father’s role in “Bhagwaan Dada,” and played a crucial part in the storyline.

For his dancing role in the film “Aasha,” Hrithik Roshan received his first payment of Rs. 100, which came from his grandfather, Om Prakash. In this movie, Hrithik danced alongside veteran actor Jeetendra.

As a shy and introverted child dealing with stammering and low confidence, Hrithik attended Bombay Scottish School, where he was an average student. However, he discovered his passion for dance early on and showcased his talent from a young age. Under the guidance of renowned choreographer Shiamak Davar, he received training and participated in numerous stage performances.
