The Dev Patel and Anupam Kher starrer film Hotel Mumbai seemed to have a low start at the box office. The film starring Dev Patel, Anupam Khar and Jason Issac released along with the other film Commando 3 starring Vidyut Jammwal. However, the way the film performed at the box office was expected. The collection on the first day went to around 1.08 Crores, while on the second day it scored around 2.75 Crores and lastly the collection on Sunday to 2.25 Crores.
Together the collection went low and did not helped the movie to earn big at the box office. As per reports, the low occupancy gave a low collection. Therefore the 1st-weekend box office collection for Hotel Mumbai reached to around 6.08 Crores. The film is directed by Anthony Maras and it did get mixed reviews as many felt that the film lagged behind in many things that failed to attract the crowd. Also, the film talked about a particular incident, it becomes a niche movie that would only attract the audience that feels connected to it in someways.
Also, the advent of Commando 3 on the same day created a hurdle for the film. It did hamper the collection in a big way giving a meager amount at the box office during the 1st weekend time. The experts feel that the weekdays’ collection would be on similar lines thus making it low at the box office.
