Hollywood actor Ray Stevenson, antagonist of ‘RRR’ film passes away
Veteran Hollywood actor Ray Stevenson who recently gained fame after playing main antagonist in S.S. Rajamauli’s period action drama ‘RRR’, has passed away at the age of 58. He breathed his last on 21 May, on Sunday in Italy while shooting a film titled ‘Cassino In Ischia’.
The actor died on Sunday, four days before his 59th birthday, according to a spokesman. Other information is not being released at this time, according to the reporter. Ray Stevenson was apparently in Italy filming ‘Cassino in Ischia’. The cause of death has not yet been determined. The actor was hospitalized on the Italian island of Ischia while filming the next film Casino On Ischia, according to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica. Ray’s partner, anthropologist Elisabetta Caraccia, and their two kids, Sebastian Derek and Leonardo George Stevenson, survive him. He previously married actress Ruth Gemmell.
RRR marked Rey’s debut in Indian cinema. He played the lead antagonist, the racist and inhumane Governor Scott Buxton. The film also starred superstars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles.
RRR director S.S Rajamauli, who was deeply shocked by the sudden demise of the film’s lead antagonist, took to the official social media handles and paid respect to Ray Stevenson with a touching post. “Shocking… Just can’t believe this news. Ray brought in so much energy and vibrancy with him to the sets. It was infectious. Working with him was pure joy. My prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace”, read his post.

The RRR makers are also shocked by Ray Stevenson’s sudden demise. “What shocking news for all of us on the team! Rest in peace, Ray Stevenson. You will stay in our hearts forever, Sir Scott,” reads team RRR’s Twitter post.

About Ray Stevenson: Raymond Stevenson was born in Lisburn on 25 May, 1964. He graduated at the age of 29. Stevenson had been an actor at the movies and on television since the early 1990s. Ray Stevenson debuted in the film The Theory of Flight in 1988 and went on to star in Hollywood franchise films such as The Punisher: War Zone, Thor, and Thor: Ragnarok, as well as adaptations of The Three Musketeers and The Divergent series. He has also appeared in television shows such as Rome, Dexter’s sixth season.
Ray Stevenson will be seen in Ahsoka, a Disney + Hotstar Original Star Wars series, as well as the films Cassino in Ischia and 1242: Gateway to the West, posthumously.
