Happy Birthday Sridevi: Remembering the legendary actress with her unforgettable films!

Late Sridevi Ji was known for her great movies and brilliant performances. On the occasion of her birth anniversary today, here are the five movies you should definitely watch if you are a fan, if you aren’t, you’ll definately become one.

Inquilaab:
This is Sridevi’s first film opposite Amitabh Bachchan. She plays the daughter of a rich politician who falls in love with an idealistic and responsible cop. In the film Sridevi’s confidence was glorified. The role of Sridevi was challenging while Amitabh went with his regular angry man role.

Tohfa:
During this film the news was filled with the comparison between Sri and Jaya Parda. The classic love triangle gave jaya parda an interesting role but sridevi’s lavish dance scenes is what made the movie a runaway hit. Till date, the song Tohfa tohfa laya laya is remembered with great enthusiasm.

Nagina:
In the film sridevi played a young, enigmatic and charismatic rajni, a serpent. Sri and rishi kapoor’s love story was great but what stole the heart of the audience was her naagin act. The song Main teri dushman with Amrish Puri as the dastardly snake was charming in the entire movie.

Mr India:
The film was apparently about Anil Kapoor but trust Sri to come up with her brilliant acting to steal the show. Her bubbly character of seema and her unforgettable performance in the song Hawa Hawaii and her sensuousness in Kaate nahi katte have made Mr. India one of Hindi cinema’s best films ever.

Chalbaaz:
In the film she played twins the submissive Anju and the rebellious manju. With her brilliant performance for donning two characters so gracefully, success came in form of box office returns and her first Hindi Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
