Rajinikanth had a glorious five-decade-long career and has become referred to as the Thalaiva of the South Indian film industry. His career began with Kamal Haasan in the 1975 Tamil film Apoorva Raagangal, and over time he rose to become one of the nation’s most in-demand actors. One of the best performers in Indian cinema, the actor is not only a veteran of blockbuster films but also possesses amazing stunt and dance abilities.

The Thalaiva will celebrate his 72nd birthday on Monday, December 12. To commemorate the occasion, here is a list of some of his most recent and future movies.

Jailer is an upcoming action comedy film directed by Nelson and starring Rajinikanth, Vasanth Ravi, and Yogi Babu. The film is being produced by Sun Pictures and marks actor Shiva Rajkumar’s Tamil debut. While the narrative of the actioner remains unknown, the film is set to enter theatres in April of next year.

The Darbar producers have secured the South megastar to a two-film agreement. The first film appears to be directed by Cibi Chakravarthy, while the second would be directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwaryaa. Earlier in November, Aishwaryaa unveiled the title of the project, Lal Salaam, signifying her return after a 7-year absence.

This Tamil actioner directed by Siva stars Rajinikanth, Khushbu, Nayanthara, Meena, and Keerthy Suresh in the key parts. The premise of the film tells the story of a brother who goes to any length to defend his younger sister from the mafia when she elopes with her lover.

Darbar starring Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, Suniel Shetty, Nivetha Thomas, and Prateik Babbar, with music by Anirudh Ravichander. The film recounts the lives of Mumbai’s police commissioner, who discovers a deeper mystery related to an international drug lord while apprehending a drug peddler. He will go to any length to bring the mobster to justice.

Petta

Petta is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and stars Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi, Malvika Mohanan, Trisha, Bobby Simha, and others. The film follows the life of hostel warden Kaali, who is forced to confront a buried secret from his past while defending his best friend’s son from local thugs.
