Reports: Superstar Rajinikanth admitted to hospital in Chennai, here’s what happened!

On Thursday, South superstar Rajinikanth was admitted to Chennai’s Kauvery Hospital. According to an ETimes article, Rajinikanth went to the hospital for a routine check-up and was later hospitalised. The actor’s publicist Riaz K Ahmed told PTI, “It is a health check-up done routinely on a periodical basis. He is now in a private hospital for the check-up.”

The actor was recently honoured with the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to film in New Delhi. He also met President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tour.

While accepting the award, he became emotional and praised his guru K Balachander and others for instilling in him great ideals and playing a significant role in his life. “I dedicate this award to my mentor, guru K Balachander sir. I remember him with great gratitude and my brother Sathyanarayana Rao Gaekwad, who is like my father, brought me up teaching great values and injecting spirituality in me,” he said.

Rajinikanth will be featured in the film ‘Annaatthe,’ which also stars Nayanthara. The film will be released on November 4th, directed by Siva. Fans of the superstar are eagerly anticipating the release of the flick.

Rajinikanth has appeared in a number of South Indian and Bollywood films over the years. With K Balachander’s ‘Apoorva Ragangal,’ he made his debut in 1975 and never looked back. He has appeared in a number of critically acclaimed films, including Billu and Sivaji.
