Happy Birthday Madhuri Dixit: We bet you did not know these facts about the ‘Dhak-Dhak Girl’

Today on Madhuri's birthday let's talk about some lesser-known facts that we bet you never knew.

Madhuri Dixit Nene is no less than a legend in the Hindi film industry. She entered the industry with the film Abodh in 1984 and since then there is no turning back for the actress. She has given some of the most iconic films in her career. Appearing in more than 70 films, the gorgeous lady has done everything from action to romance.

Being the chulbuli Nisha in Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! to the most gorgeous courtesan Chandramukhi in Devdas. Madhuri has played each and every role with utmost ease. At the peak of her career, Madhuri shocked her fans when she quietly married Shriram Madhav Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon from Los Angeles, California, on 17 October 1999. Keeping herself away from the limelight, she again made a comeback after five years with a leading role in cinematographer Anil Mehta’s dance film Aaja Nachle (2007) which was highly appreciated by the audience.

Today on Madhuri’s birthday let’s talk about some lesser-known facts that we bet you never knew.

Apart from being an amazing actor and dancer, Madhuri is very active in working towards the betterment of society. In 2014 she has been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador Advocate for children and equal woman’s rights. She is also a Goodwill Ambassador and a patron for Emeralds for Elephants – a charity project for the conservation of Asian Elephants and other endangered species. Amazing, right!

According to a report, Madhuri was named among the ‘Top Five Most Powerful Indian Movie stars’ in 2001 by Forbes.

Her 1994 released film, Hum Aapke Hain Koun is definitely one of our favorite films till date. But it was the time when male actors were given the most priority in terms of payment. However, Madhuri was the one who broke the rules and got paid more than her co-star Salman Khan. Oh yes! you read that right.

Indian artist M. F Husain was so charmed with the Dhak Dhak girl that he Saw ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ 67 times and when she made her comeback in 2007 with Aaja Nachle, he booked an entire theatre to watch her movie. Wow! such die-hard fans!

Madhuri has a star named after her in the Orion constellation. The certificate from the Star Foundation reads: “A celestial body in the sky above has been named in honour of Madhuri Dixit-Nene and is officially located in the constellation Orion.” Isn’t it so cool!

No doubt, Madhuri Dixit is one of those rare actors of the Hindi film industry who remains our favorite no matter how many newcomers debut in the films. We wish this gorgeous lady a very happy birthday from Cine Talkers.
