Happy Birthday Kunal Kemmu: From Kalyug To Lootcase, 5 Performances Which Will Be Remembered More Than The Films Itself

Bollywood actor Kunal Kemmu turned 38 today. The versatile actor made his debut in the film industry as a child artist in the film, Sir, which was released in the year 1993. Later, when the actor appeared in the film Raja Hindustani with Aamir Khan, his performance as a quirky character was loved by all. The actor then made a heroic entry in the film with his 2005 released Kalyug and since then there’s no turning back for him. Today, on the actor’s birthday, let’s take a look at his 5 performances that are my personal favorite.

1. Kalyug (2005):
Making his entry with Kalyug, Kunal Kemmu made his mark in the Bollywood industry. Apart from him, the film saw Emraan Hashmi, Smiley Suri, Deepal Shaw, Amrita Singh, and Ashutosh Rana. Kalyug was an action-thriller and Kunal’s performance was outstanding in the film.

2. Go Goa Gone (2013):
Go Goa Gone was directed by Raj and DK and saw Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Anand Tiwari, and Puja Gupta in the lead roles. This was the first Zombie film and made the audience go crazy over the concept. This film is still one of my favorites for all that is offered in it. The film was also a box office success and a sequel titled Go Goa Gone 2 is set for a release by 2022. This film was way ahead of its time and Kunal as Hardik was definitely a treat to watch. I am not sure if it’s just me or Kemmu’s expressions at funny as well as serious situations are just out of the world.

3. Kalank (2019):
Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank was a multi starrer film. The film saw Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Kemmu in the lead roles. Although, these were the names that were said to be the lead characters, the only face of the camera, even while promoting the film were just Alia, Varun, Aditya, and Sonakshi. Kunal was seen for a limited time period in the film although his character was speaking more than his dialogues in the film offered.

4. Malang (2020):
Malang was released on 7th February 2020. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film starred Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani, and Kunal Kemmu in pivotal roles. Although the film starred many actors, all the fame and appreciation were taken away by Aditya and Disha. Kunal was seen as a very interesting character in the film which should have been talked about more than it was.

5. Lootcase (2020):
Lootcase was Kunal’s latest release during the pandemic times. The film released on Disney Plus Hotstar and personally something I needed to watch and freshen up my mind with all the negative news around. A perfect film for you to release that stress with a good amount of laughter is what this film serves. With Kunal, other talented actors in the film were Gajraj Rao, Vijay Raaz, Ranvir Shorey, and Rasika Dugal. The film was a complete entertainer with some amazing fun dialogues. However, sadly, it wasn’t appreciated much.

In a personal opinion, Kunal Kemmu is one of those actors who, if given the right opportunities can do wonders in the film industry. I wish to watch him more than he shows up in films.

Today, as the actor celebrates his birthday, Cine Talkers wishes him the best of luck for the future and many more successes.
