Gulshan Kumar has a special mention when we talk about B Town. He owned the music company T-Series, which is currently taken to new heights by his son Bhushan Kumar. We remember him on his birth anniversary as he was born on this date way back in 1956. He still remains in the collective memory of the people. The man has come a long way, right from being a small juice shop owner to build up a cassette empire in the country.
While he is also known for his painful death as well. Talking about his birth anniversary, he is fondly called as the Cassette King, who scaled new heights of success and then killed brutally when his success was at its zenith. He was born in a fruit juice vendor and his full name was Gulshan Kumar Dua. He worked with his father on the streets of Daryaganj in Delhi. Since his childhood he was very much fond of music and used to record original songs with his voice and then sell to people on the streets of Delhi before heading to Bombay.
As he shifted to Mumbai, his fate changed as he entered into the music world. He was murdered on 12th August 1997 in Mumbai and his quick success made many enemies and he was also getting huge ransom demands but he refused to pay. As per reports, sharp shooters were given the contract of his killings while he was just outside the temple of Jeeteshwar Mahadev. The murder made his family shattered as the responsibility of the business fell on the son Bhushan. But he took the company to a new height.
